The new phones, which will all offer the same core functionality, will vary slightly in size, shape and specs as US operators look to offer something different from each other.
All three smartphones will have an “ultra-thin form factor and brilliant Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display” state Samsung as well as sporting faster 4G connectivity for the US.
On the camera front all three will come with an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording and a front facing 2 megapixel camera.
The Sprint offering will be called the Sprint Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, no really, cost $199.99 on a two year contract, and be available from 16 September.
Specs on Sprint’s Galaxy S II include a 4.52-inch screen that is .22-inches bigger than the UK version of the Galaxy S II’s 4.3-inch screen, Samsung’s own Exynos 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 1800 mAh battery, and 16GB of onboard memory.
The AT&T offering will feature the same internal specs, however the carrier has opted for the same 4.3-inch screen in the UK and Europe. It’s also a very similar design although gone is the hardware based home key and in is a four button touchscreen configuration. It will be available in the US on the 18 September.
The T-Mobile variant will be know as the “Samsung Galaxy S II on T-Mobile” and come with a 4.52-inch screen and a slightly more curvier design. T-Mobile USA has yet to announce a price or release date, but we suspect it will be similar to those on AT&T and Sprint.
All three devices are running Android 2.3 with TouchWiz 4.0
