iPhone 4S, not iPhone 5, coming 21 October

Tweaked version only to come this year?

  The iPhone 5 that we're all waiting for may not actually arrive in October. That's according to Greek site DigitalLife who is reporting that the only Apple handset that will be announced next month will be a revamped iPhone 4, labelled the iPhone 4S.
It is claiming an "improved version of the iPhone 4" will be announced in early October, with a launch on the 21st of that month.
It will simply be a souped up iPhone 4 with the same display and form factor. Its inner workings have had a tweak though, with an 8 megapixel and 1080p video recording at 30fps available, a second antenna at the top to improve the signal and the inclusion of an A5 dual core chip running at 1GHz.
DigitalLife tipped Pocket-lint off about the 4S details although we get a lot of tips like this arriving in our inbox everyday.
So we asked the site to give us a bit more detail and its sources seem to be genuine. Obviously we're not going to sell them down the river by revealing where it claims to get its info from, and we can only take its word that it's all above board at this point.
The 4S only suggestion does tie-in with what Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair stated on Wednesday though. His note to investors was reported by Fox Business, and read:
"We expect the focus of the new iPhone will be iOS 5, a speedier A5 processor and a higher resolution 8 MP camera with a small possibility of a larger 4 inch screen. We believe the casing will be largely similar to the iPhone with some particular modifications to the antennae [sic]. We don’t expect a second, dramatically different iPhone to accompany this as we don’t think Apple needs to have 3 models in the market to address the high end, mid-tier and low end since the iPhone 4 (with memory lowered to 8 GB) will drop to $99 and effectively attack those markets."
We're still not sure that there won't be a completely refreshed iPhone too, to sit above the ever-increasingly likely iPhone 4-a-like. There's been a lot of talk over the teardrop style design and there's not normally this much smoke without fire.
We guess that all will be revealed come October. Definitely. Maybe.
